Survey of 56 hospital and health system leaders shows poor claims data integration is a significant reason VBC success is faltering

Healthcare organizations are making critical strategic decisions based on data they fundamentally don’t trust. Our survey of 56 C-suite healthcare executives reveals a troubling contradiction: While 87% say claims data is important to VBC success, and 74% report their leadership relies on it for strategic decisions, only 35% are confident in their data quality and accuracy. This means nearly two-thirds of healthcare organizations are building VBC strategies on a foundation they question.

Key findings include:

  • 91% struggle with accurately integrating and validating claims data
  • 45% report it takes five months or longer to integrate new payer data
  • Only 11% rate their data infrastructure as “excellent”
